What the contract actually protects
Engine
Pistons, rings, crankshaft, camshaft, turbocharger, injectors — the internal lubricated parts, named individually on heavy-duty plans.
Transmission
Torque converter, valve body, planetaries, shafts, synchronisers. Manual or automatic, all internal lubricated parts.
Drive axle
Output shaft, carrier, ring and pinion gears, bearings and bushings. The parts that put the power on the road.
Emissions
DPF filter and EGR valves, covered for the first 12 months or 100,000 miles. The two failures that park a modern diesel.
